Should come with all the cable needed to set up the PC. But has Dell and Compaq have no way to guessing what you are going to use for Internet connection (cable through the NIC, Dial-up through the modem, wireless, etc.) - or how long a cable you would need (2 feet ot 20 feet), they do not include the cable you would need to connect the PC to the Internet.

You would need to buy one of two cables. Neither a piece of phone cord if you are using the modem for dial-up, or a CAT5 network cable for highspeed (cable or DSL) through the Network NIC card. No cable if you are going wireless.

Usually there is a telephone cord for the modem but there is not a ethernet cable for the lan.
