Okay, I just googled "tanga," and I just have to say, ouch! Those look insanely uncomfortable, hence the reason teens probably don't wear them: they look like medieval torture in underwear form.
Actually...now that I think about it...how is a tanga different from a thong?

I have no idea what a tanga is.
Teens used to wear thongs to hide panty lines, but now they wear them because jeans are now made so that everyone can see the top four inches of your underwear out of the top of your pants. Yes, it makes them look like whores, but unfortunately that is what young girls like these days. When the jeans manufacturers stop making pants that show the world what you had for breakfast every time you sit down, the underwear market will probably take a hit.

because they think they're *cooler* and *trendier* since all their girlfriends are wearing them, plus they believe thongs will be *sexier* to show off to their boyfriends! They simply need to grow up and understand that *sexy* comes from within first!
(oh and by the way, I can't believe how many people don't know what a *tanga* is...they must have been born yesterday! Scary!!!)
