In everyone Archie comics, you see Archie kissing and going out with both Betty and Veronica and sometimes theyre ok with it. Dont you think it influences young kids that its ok to cheat or be a player? Look at Jughead, he likes to eat a lot and doesn't exercise. Isn't he showing kids that its ok to be a couch potato? I love reading Archie comics and all but i can't help but notice these influences. What do you think?

wow, never realized that. But really if you get really picky about all that, look what happened to noddy and then 'Baa baa black sheep' . Yes i understand your views, but really children pick up on certain issues if they are exposed to them, meaning via the parents or the environment. so if you introduce it as a healthy fun once in a while treat, then its alright. if you put up restrictions, saying no it shows this and this, then it just is exposing and intriguing the child more.
so just be laid back, treat it as if it is just fiction, and the kid should be fine.

OMG-its a comic book and it doesn't promote violence and it gets kids to read. Those reasons alone should make you happy to see any kid reading it. So what if Archie goes out with both Betty and Veronica, So what if Jughead eats alot and doesn't exercise. These are things that go on in real life everyday. I think its better for kids to be reading Archie than to be here in Yahoo Answers asking ridiculous questions about sex!!!

I think that the writers behind Archie comics were from a time in which people learned from other people's behaviors and mistakes. It's like watching a bad situation and being able to notice the bad choices a character ot characters make and why we shouldn't do the same...

Aren't all of the seven deadly sins portrayed by various Archie characters? Reggie=greed, Jughead=sloth, etc

Relax mom.

If this is what they're reading , you should be thankful. It really has to be one of the most benign portrayals of adolescence there ever was. If you want something to worry about , how about MTV? Sooner or later the kids will date, Jughead is just a lovable layabout and more often than not is punished for his sloth.

Okay...relax for a second. If they are reading Archie you should be thankful their not reading others. Nowdays almost all comic books or graphic novels have blood, guns, cursing and some have more. Must I go on?!
