I have DSL. I can get a connection with no problem and my Outlook express works, but I cannot do anything with my browser (IE). I haven't done anything to the computer, it just stopped working all of a sudden. It comes up with the work offline screen. Any ideas?

Open browser (IE) and click on file and make sure there is no 'tick' in the 'work off line' option which is second from bottom of the drop down list. If there is, just highlight it and left-click once. The menu will close but the tick will be gone.
If that fails, try a 'power-cycle'. Remove power from modem or router, shutdown PC fully, wait 1 minute and then reboot. When desktop has fully loaded and cursor is stable (not egg-timer, but arrow) then restart the power to modem/router.
If still no good - call 0845 600 7030 for further tests (BT users only)
When DSL is solid once more, try www.bbc.co.uk as a website and hope it works for you.

click on file-> uncheck the option work offline.

also make sure that you are not using any kind of proxy settings or your antivirus is not blocking the internet connection for IE

on the toolbar ... go to File - uncheck "work offline"

otherwise you might have to call your provider and they'll prompt you through it
