Wow, this sounds just like me...! I played basketball all my life, and then in high school I quit because the coach drove everyone away, and people started forgetting why they liked playing in the first place. Now that high school is over, I regret having made that decision! If basketball runs through your blood, and you truly LOVE the game, then don't quit because of the coach! As it turns out, he may just be trying to test your character, and see who DOES stick around! Just do your best, and then the coach won't have anything to yell at you for (at least within reason). In sports, sometimes it isn't always easy, but that's what gives winning games so much more meaning! Enjoy playing while you can--I wish I had! Good luck! =)

Stick with it. If you love the game, play. And don't let anyone tell you any different. If he's perverted though take it up with higher authorities, and be sure to let them know. I was a basketball player all though high school and college and had many coaches I didn't like. But you have to stick with it. You won't be able to play organized basketball forever. Trust me when you get older you'll do anything to put on a jersey and play one more time.

What struck me was the word "perverted"... If he is trying to do something beyond the line of coaching and closer to the line perverting, then you may need to report it to the school administrator..
But if you just dont like him at all, take him as a challenge, because in basketball we will meet people and opponents we wont like, and if youll run away from that one, what happens when you are faced with someone you cant run away from?like an opposing teams best player? Now with this coach of yours, pace yourself, focus, get in the game and play...
Its Basketball, you cant play forever, so play on and take you best shot...

You will earn the respect of your peers by being a stronger person than him. He wins if you quit, because he'll feel like he's in control.
Play, play well, and become one of the leaders of the team. If you can rally the team around you on and off the court, his poor leadership will fade over time. It may even unite the team to play better in the end.
Remember: his basketball knowledge might not be bad though, so do not be to quick to rebel against his bball coaching. Always play hard and execute offensively and defensively. Good Luck.

If you allow not liking the coach to stand in your way of going out or playing a sport then you really don't love that sport. Sports are suppose to emulate everyday life, and in everday life if you quit a job or don't apply for a job just because you don't like the boss you will most likely not go far. A person who loves to play any sport will not let a coach or another player keep them from doing what they love to do.

STICK WITH IT! You may not like this coach, but he may see something in you that he is trying to bring out...you could be a star and he might see potential that he wants to pull out of you. All coaches yell - they get frustrated that they aren't out there with you! KEEP WITH IT! When you say he is perverted? What do you mean exactly? Are you saying something stronger, has he done something inappropriate? A coach should never touch you in any way other than a "high 5" or smack you on the back of your head to get your attention! These are strong words you say? Think carefully about what you mean when you say perverted. And for pete''s sake - don't shower around him.

first of yes, you should continue to play. When you get older and get a job. most of the time your not going to like your boss or co workers or even customers. Its the price you pay to get paid. As for him being a pervert. You need to report him. A pervert has no business being a coach of a girls basketball team. Not only does it affect you personally but can affect how the team is going to play. Best of luck to you

If you start quitting now, you'll be forever quitting, don't let what you dislike about someone else dictate your life. If you love basketball play and pray for your coach. That could be the gift that God has blessed you with. In the future I can guarentee that you will meet people worse than him.

Hi, If your love for the sport is real, then you should probably try to ignore the small stuff and not take it personally. I am sure that the coach is just "talking trash" to get your emotions flowing and to see how you handle the pressure. Turn the heat back on him by playing your *** off and show him the skills you have!!!

Wellll... one time I went to basketball all summer and trained and went at 6:30 in the morning and the whole thing. i was in love with basketball. but then, we got a new coach and he was a COMPLETE jerk. i tried to stick with it and everything, but to this day i still hate it. so, i quit and joined cheerleading, and love it. My advice would be to see if there is any AAU leagues or county leagues that you can join so you can still play....
