I don't want to be rude at all so please don't take this the wrong way. I don't think the world is ready for that. Right now we live in a world of perfect little size 2 bodies being the "in" thing. Its sad, but its true. Thats what a lot of people want to see. Everyone is on a health kick lately. And so being plus size doesn't fit into everyones decsriptions of attractive, because fit and healthy is the new attractive. Although I'm sure you're a very attractive girl if you're considering modeling. But I would say to keep at it. You might start a trend that we don't have to fit inside the box anymore and that would be great.

I have to hand it to you. I think it is a very GOOD idea. If my answer is a bit long, then I must apologize beforehand. While I, myself, am not heavy, I do have relatives who are. My aunt is a bit on the heavy side, but I wouldn't change her for nothing in this world. I can also sympathize with you about wanting to start a trend on becoming a plus-size model. I am sick and tired of everybody thinking that being big is WRONG. I know that this is the oldest clich'e in the world, but I am STILL going to say it. If God wanted us all to be the same size, and shape, then he would have made us that way. We each have our own individality that makes us who we are. I just wish people would stop trying to fit everyone into the same category, just because they might be different than they are. Statisically speaking, obese peolpe are healthier than the average normal wieght person. It's because of the added nutrients in their diets that cause them to be that way. The average person who says that obesity is wrong, and unhealthy, are usually the ones who dont know anything about it. While it may cause high-blood pressure ( and that's only if you eat foods that are high in sodium), and it can lead to heart disease, it still doesnt mean that its wrong all the time. People who say they are health freaks, and health nuts are the ones who usually end up with some untreatable disease, or some other life-threatening disease that cannot be cured by eating " healthy foods." Also, many people might disagree with me when I say this, but I have watched Monique's Tv show F.A.T.( Fabolous and Thick). While I can appreciate the fact that she would like larger women to be noticed, I cannot agree with her on how she is doing it. In fact, I would go so far as to say that she is exploiting larger women for her needs. She is not advertising plus-size women to an advantage. Some of the things that I have heard her say have been downright ignorant!! I think someone else should have thought of the idea to start a show featuring plus-size models because she doesnt have the class to pull it off. But, this is just my personal opinion. I would like to commend you for stepping out of the " normal" bounds of society to express yourself, and to tell people that you are a part of this world also. That takes a LOT of guts, and backbone. I hope that you succeed, but I know that it wont be easy. Try to stick in there, and toughen it out. It will pay off in the end. I wish you the best of luck.

I think I might be the healthiest 13-year-old alive (junior size 0) and I'm a model for Image International. I'll tell you this much: I almost never see heavy people modeling. People stereotype heavy people too much, and also, most bigger women don;t feel comfortable with themselves. I thin kyou should go for it! If you feel good about yourself, it's worth showing the world what ou got! You have a lot of courage and comfort! You are a star!

No. Plus sized models are usually around a size 12 - 14 and have to be somewhat in proportion. There are a few who are US sized 16-18. They also have to still be tall, minimum 5'8" and preferably taller.

They already have them. If you watch America's Next Top Model Taqora is a plus size model and won. She was on this show with a lotta of other plus size models behind her and the audience responded alright to em.

NO! That's not healthy and it would be just as irresponsible to market that as it is to market the heroin chic that's currently being shoved down our throats by the mainstream fashion media.

Sure, why not? There are way worse things being promoted by Hollywood than simply being overweight. I say go for it!!
