My man has bought me 3 presents in the past two years and that includes all holidays birthdays everything. I don't want anything expensive just something he thought i would like? What does it mean?

For one thing, he probably has no idea what to get you. He would probably like to get you something you'd really like instead of just some token of his affection, but he doesn't understand women's tastes in fashion or jewelry or house decor well enough to figure out what to buy. And he probably realizes that although you think the silly gift he purchased you was sweet, you're probably not going to get much use out of it. No doubt it just seems to make more sense to him to let you purchase what you want for yourself instead of getting something you don't need or want.

If you want him to buy you a gift, tell him so...in a sweet way. One evening when you're in a playful mood and are getting along, offer him a massage. While you're rubbing his back, mention that you could probably give him a much better massage if you had some proper massage oil and some sensual smelling candles to get you in the mood. Talk about how much you love the scent of vanilla, or lavender, or sandalwood (or whatever it is you like) and how that smell relaxes you or turns you on. When you're done with the massage, look him in the eyes and say, "You know...Bath and Body Works really has some wonderful massage oils and candles and stuff. I'm sure you could find somebody there to help you pick something nice out. After all, my birthday's only a week away!" If you're not sure whether he got the message or not, pick up a flyer from Bath & Body Works (or whatever store you prefer) and leave it in his underwear drawer or next to his sink. He'll get the message.

And remember, men are creatures of habit. If you pick something like lotions and oils that are easy for men to select (no worrying about the wrong size, color, etc...), chances are he'll go back to that same store and get that same product time and time again...if you remind him. Then if you ever get sick of lotions and candles, you can use your little massage trick to suggest something else, like lingerie (size 6! but keep the price tag just in case...) or concert tickets (I would give anything to go see that Nine Inch Nails concert next month!) or even a professional massage!
