I found the following information on the below sites.

The Non-Rebreather mask (NRB) are used for patients requiring large quantities of oxygen. Patients suffering from traumatic injuries or cardiac related illnesses call for the NRB. The NRB employs a large reservoir that fills while the patient is exhaling. The exhalate is forced through small holes on the side of the mask. These holes are sealed while the patient is inhaling, thus preventing outside air from entering. The patient is breathing pure oxygen. The flow rate for the NRB is 10 to 15 LPM.

Such kind of information is not as easy accessible as this may seem "at first glance". My estimation (which can be wrong) is 15-25 million per year. But we must not forget, that not every single one can be good enough for the adequate performance. Therefore, there is always some room for the improvement. But that is not it. Many people die from these products because they don't actually know how to use them. If you want to refer to statistic, I would say, it is about 15 to 19 million per year. But you have to realize that not the numbers are important. World is much more complex thing than most of us realize. It is not enough to "keep an eye" on the digits. It is also very important to build a line of behavior in such a manner that everybody can benefit from it. And this is THE TASK, as I see it.

I don't really know how you would find out how many non-rebreathers have been used. Does this include the ones we open but don't use? You might, however, contact manufacturers and get an idea of how many have been sold.
