PATTIES. I HATE the word "patties", as in hamburger patties. The word "cocoa" gets on my nerves too, and "swab" when used as a verb, as in, "I need to swab my ears". There are others, but I think these three in particular are so stupid.

Can't.

My Mum told me it's not a word.

I love my Mum.

Oh, and if you say it in a South London accent like me, it sounds rude.

One of the most intensely annoying words in the English language is “NAGGING.” Even if it didn’t mean anything it still has a nasty ring to it. Shout it out loud three times in rapid succession and if you haven’t already, you’ll immediately develop a lifetime animosity towards it. More than to any other annoying word that springs to mind.

i am from the west coast (california). 4 years ago I moved to pennsylvania.
here, they say "would yous like sumthin to drink awhile" okay, so imagine someone saying that to you...wouldn't it drive you nuts? would YOUS like sumthin to drink AWHILE" what they are trying to say, in the west coast sense,is "can i get you something to drink" it's crazy, and i literally want to claw their eyes out.
they don't ever say "freeway". they say "bypass, or highway".
they don't say "swap meet" they say "flea market".
they don't say "mow the lawn" they say "cut the grass".
they also have a bad habit of blowing their nose at the table in the restaraunt when people are eating. GROSS ME OUT!!

GAWD i miss home! it is so unnerving!

I've always hated "panties." They're not little pants; they're underwear. You wear them under your clothes. Er, at least most of us do.
