I turned 5 in 1980, so I remember, bikes with ribbons coming out of the handle bars and white plastic baskets with fake flowers on the front. Smurfs, Snorks, Kissyfur, Cabbage Patch Kids, and 3,2,1 Contact. The first song I remember really liking was "Lovergirl" and not having a clue what the lyrics meant. I was in love with Prince and Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran. Labryinth was the coolest movie, and China Girl was a great song. Freddy and Jason scared me to death, and when we got a push button telephone, it was the coolest! My dad actually got a beta player and we had to get rid of it for a vcr. I wanted to be Madonna. I wore neon colors and ripped up jeans. Valley girl was cool, and Molly Ringwald was the queen of the world.
I started high school in 1989 and wore my best neon geometric print shirt and neon pink skirt with big, teased up bi-level bangs and a perm... I was SO cool. LOL!!
There is so much more, but I'm gonna stop there.

Not! Like,

Music: The Cure, the Smiths, Bauhaus, The Cult, Ministry, The Jam, Social Distortion, X

Clothing: Scrunched down socks, big earrings, hair in a bob, bracelets. Skirts and leggings. Corona t-shirts. keds. ciao boots. Converse. I wore a lot of black, but I remember when all of the neon colors were in. double-wrap belts. those baby doll shoes with the orange soles.

I never had parachute pants, but to be honest, that sound they made when you walked made my skin crawl!

OMG! Chemin de Fer! Did anyone have those for-play pants? My mom would not let me get them, and it took ages for me to figure out why!

I was in junior high and high school in the 80's. I remember Madonna, Boy George, Wham, and Atlantic Star, Peabo Bryson, Stephanie Mills, and wearing leg warmers with a mini skirt, peddle pushers (now called capris) and gouchos. I wore a ton of makeup and wore my hairstyle really teased and big. I am 38 now and have a little sense. LOL!

Old music- like that song "Egypt"- I don't know the artist. That was cool.

Rambo movies were big during the 80's.

"Where's the beef" was one saying.

Other cool songs:

"Sister Christian" by NIGHT RANGER

"I wear my sunglasses at night" By Corey Hart
