I have 2 tanks with really bad algae. I am buying some algae maintenance drops so that I can control the algae better. I know that you can not use it on crustations but what about African dwarf frogs, which are the small underwater frogs you find the pet stores usually in the bigger tanks with fish? I dont want to kill them and want to make sure before I spend the money on it.

I have considered that before(algae eaters) but one of my tanks is too small for anything else, and one of my tanks has too much algae growth for the eater to take care of.

no .. not the brands that at least ive seen at my store. There are other ways to remove algae from tanks... depending on tank size and type of algae you have. for green or brown algae that grows on tank walls/ornaments/gravel etc you can use algae eating fish or snails. the smallest algae eater is 2 inches in size and is perfect for the small tanks 5-30 gallons, called otocinclus. for all other larger tanks use regular plecostomus they range in sizes from 6inch to 20 inch depending on species. For algae Bloom where water turns greenish brown, either reduce the amount of light the tank gets for a long period of time or keep on with using tank lights, but introduce live aquatic plants, algae is just a lesser form of a plant and needs the basics ... light.nutrients and water. if you have enough live plants they should out compete the algae. for stubborn forms of algae like hair algae there are only two things that i know of that eats this form of algae. a fish called a "flying fox" they go for about 8$. or ghost shrimp, they enjoy eating hair algae. hope this helps.

Possibly, since frogs are also very sensitive to chemicals. Different algae destroyers have different ingredients, but I would not attempt it. Better to be safe than sorry.

To solve or reduce algae, regular water changes AND adding a filter. Scrup out the tank once a week. Also, if you have too many animals in a set-up, the algae grows faster. You may want to have less animals or larger set-ups. Lastly, keep the set-up out of direct sunlight. You will get crazy algae blooms from exposing it to the sun.

Algae is just unsightly, and not harmful. I like algae on my tank furniture, since it makes it look more natural and less sterile. :)

Take out all the frogs etc. and put them elsewhere then try algae killer. Use the same water for them as in the algae tank. Before putting them back, you will need to do many water changes and provide strong aeration.

the best thing to get rid of algae with things like frogs in it would be to get an algae eater (not the Chinese ones! they die really quick). that way you don't have to put any more chemicals in your tank then you need to
