Maybe this would explain the success of Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, All American Rejects, Green Day ( I listened to them when I was 14), No Doubt, etc.

Actually, I'd rather listen to rap than Fall Out Boy. And that's no joke.

Yes, schools today teach a class on Sh*tty Music Appreciation 101 as a prerequisite of graduation. Why the hell is Greenday still around? I hated them in 10th grade and they suck worse than ever 12 years later.

I agree that all of those bands are crappy except for Greenday. Fall out boy, Panic! at the disco, and All American rejects completely suck! I like old punk and rock music like The Clash, The Ramones, Ozzy(or Black Sabbath), and Queen etc... although I like Greenday it doesn't mean that I listen to or like that crappy pop-rock music! Rap and Hip hop are some examples of REALLY crappy music!!!

Think about it. Where the hell did MTV or VH1 go? I haven't had cable for a long time so I might be wring by now, but last I saw it, the M in MTV didn't really exist. They should call it CTV-Celebrity TV-as all it had last I saw was shows telling you how much Lindsay Lohan's shoes and eyebrow waxes cost and where to get the most blingin' diamonds. The 14 year olds of today have nowhere to go but Suckit City for their tunes!

No it's not the school, it's the friends. Peer Pressure and they begin to pay too much attention to the lyrics of the song, while the singer is getting rich the listeners are pretty much acting out the songs or becoming less productive.

Those groups you listed are light years better than the rap s**t most of them listen to.

My wife, who is a music teacher, can tell you that it is not the schools that are teaching them to listen to rap. Their friends all do.

it all depends on the environment, what kind of music did your family and friends listen to,or the people you thought were cool?this has alot to do with it.
