The only bird that really flies backwards is actually no longer around. It was the Dodo bird.

The humming bird is the only bird which can fly backward. It have this feature because it have to suck flower juice during flying.

a bird who turns his head round to see whats behind him, and at the same time continues to fly forward. Or strap the bird in a cage facing forwards in a caqr, and reverse the car. These theorys will work with any type of bird. Any more intelliegence wanted feel free to ask me.
