It is better to let the computer pick them.

Doing this won't increase your chances off winning -- but it will increase your chances of being the only person who wins. The reason for this is that you may be influenced by numbers that are not really random. Perhaps you choose numbers from the current date or an area code or the number of your favorite baseball player. Others do the same -- and all of a sudden that jackpot you won has ten winners.

For those who write there is equal chance that's not true. They obviously haven't heard of kinetic energy. If I play a dice game within 2 miles of a railroad track vs the bonneville salt flats utah will there be influence on how the dice roll is the dice atomically correct. Does an ounce weigh more or less pending your location on earth with all the sources of gravity. The universe is alive with vibration and force that is not on a equal frequency nor harmonious so I point to the butterfly effect. So yes the lottery balls have equal chance in a atomically perfect universe which we don't live in. There are two methods that are common one is to pick the most common numbers that have popped up or two is to pick the numbers that haven't been picked I would say go in between but avoid the 1,2,3,4,5,6 combo we all know there's always equal chance of that ever being picked :)

I read somewhere that most people pick their birthdates, which tend to run as high as 31, in the double digit arena.. and unfortunately, usually those predictable numbers are not the winning ones.. the article noted that it's best to pick higher numbers.. I guess, after 31 and up.

I haven't heard of anyone who won by having the computer pick their digits.

I saw on TV that the chances of a random number being a winner is very slim. It's better to pick your own numbers.

It's usually easier to just put the dollar directly in the garbage can. Cuts out the middle man. Or maybe just pick up a 44 oz. Coke instead.

Doesn't really make a difference... they're random anyway.

What becomes a problem is playing your own numbers week after week after week. Then the one week you forget to buy a ticket and there you go... they were selected.
