Did you recently hear that scientists finally landed a probe on Uranus? Really! They took a lot of samples of the crust to be shipped back to earth. Anyways, on the trip back the probe was captured by the space station and they unloaded it for testing. When they were unloading the crust samples the astronauts noticed that the samples had an interesting and pleasant smell to them. That's amazing huh?! So you know what they said?
"Who knew the crust from Uranus could smell so good?"
And that's how you became famous...
The crust from Uranus!

The pronunciation always has, and always will be "yer-AY-nus" for me. I plan to make my Grandchildren giggle with glee when I talk about the size and gassiness of "yer-AY-nus."

Maybe with all the hype about bad langauge on T.V. they are afraid to say anus. Or on the other hand maybe they felt bad about Uranus always being the butt of the joke. (hehe I made a pun, hehe)

Careful pronunciation may be necessary to avoid embarrassment; say "YOOR a nus" , not "your anus" or "urine us".
