You can't. It would be like trying to make a phone call when someone else is already using the phone. High-speed internet has really come down in price in the last few months, since you don't have needs beyond dial-up speeds, check into the lower tiers of high speed DSL or Cable internet, I've been seeing prices as low as 19.99 a month, as inexpenive as dial-up used to be. Once you get high-speed internet you'll never look back.

Well i have seen a type of modem that let u attend ur calls wen ur using a dial up connection. But the problem is that ur speed will be half of what ur orginal connection speed is.I dont kno if its available with ur ISP.This modem was provided by my ISP.
But i say its better to change to ADSL connection. Its fast, cheap and anyway better than Dial up.So rather than trying to find a solution for this, change ur connection to a broadband one.

The only way you want tie your phone line up is to get dsl, and with dsl it will allow you to talk while surfing the internet, because I have it and it is an enjoyment. But I pay 24.95 but, it is worth it. Also, it depends on what state you live in, and if they have bellsouth for your phone company, they have other ones.

I have seen a gadget you might find at Radio Shack, where it will let you use the phone for MAXIUMUM 5 minutes while online. Can't remember what it's called.

if your afraid of missing phone calls while online AOL offers something that but otherwise you can't.
Go to broadband DSL or Cable and the price isn't that much more than what your paying now.
