for or against, state ur position.
I'm for same sex marriage because by banning it, it is discrimination. Why can't the insitution of marriage allow gays? It's not like it's going to harm anybody. No death in involved.
I know we want to protect the institution, but back then, every state wanted to ban interracial marriage, I think that was back in the 50's and 60's. Now everyone wants to ban same-sex.
Religion plays a part, but should we base everything in our lives by what religion says. Do we not steal, lie, and cheat?

I'm for it. Marriage is a ceremony that recognizes the love of two people and their commitment to be together. How can a civilization that preaches love and equality for all ban two people from marrying regardless of sex, religion, color, what ever? People talk about religion but tons of people get married without going through a religious ceremony. Marriage is an institution, it is a classification of couples status. Neither of those two things care about what sex the two people are. No one is hurt by two people marrying and it doesn't in any way affect any other two people who are married so why ban it?

I agree with you Marvin, if two people are in love it doesn't matter what sex either of them are. They should be allowed to marry.
Many people agree with what you and I feel. The vast majority that don't are the religous sheep that follow blindly what they are told by thier church!
If any two people marry, how is it going to hurt you? It won't but you already know that. It's trying to convince the religous people of that. Until the church gets their head out of their ***, some people will never accept this and that is a shame!

For, completely. Who is to say what anyone else should do within the confines of their home. Those against gay marriage violate our freedom as Americans. No one's sexual preferences should be judged. Everyone deserves to share in the benifits of marriage if they are prepared to make the commitment.

against.
marriage is one of the things God established in the garden of eden between a man and a woman. why should we corrupt the true essence of marriage.
if two people of the same sex wants to live with each other, so be it, but they do not have to marry.
same sex marriage is just making immoral things moral.
it is not discrimination if it is moraly correct.

in my opinion... same sex marriages r not a crime..!!! it is just not traditional and a kind of a un conventional thing..!!! but still it ia again one human being loving another unconditionaly and trying to live together with that person... so i dont think it is some thing to be against... it is just another realtionship......
so i dont look or think bad about gays or lesbian marriages... and really beleive there r lot of other crimanal things in the world that r to be think about and put strict rules... but never on loveing one onother in wht ever the sex it may be.....

I am for it. I think most same-sex relationships are a helluva lot healthier than a lot of hetero relationships that I see.
Unfortunately, Christianity is like a virus and has invaded our daily lives to varying degrees. Separation of Church and State? Ha.

don't believe in it. Was not in God's plan. I wish people would stop trying to connect what gays go through is discrimination and compare it to what Blacks had to go through starting out with slavery and even now my people still face this. This is not the same at all. They were never told they could not eat at a place because of your sexuality, blacks were not allowed in places because of the color of their skin and still today racism exist in jobs, neighborhoods and certain cities. So please don't compare this with a race of people.

Against. As for your question, "should we base everything in our lives by what religion says," if you are a Christian, than yeah.. you should base your life on the Bible. I am, therefore, I do. But, let me make myself clear - I don't hate homosexuals at all. Just don't believe in the lifestyle.

It really doesn't matter to me one way or another. I think that if they are old enough to make the decision to be together, they should have the right to marry if that is their choice. Despite what the religions say or the Holy Books.

I am for it simply because I think everyone should be treated equally not matter who they love I also think that religon and state should remain seperated if they did that then making laws would be easier.
