Different stuff. More most programs F1 is for help, F5 will refresh your computer, F8 will help when connecting your computer to an LCD projector. They're not used for much, but certain programs do assign things to them.

F1=Help
F2=Undo
F3=Redo
F4=New
F5=Open
F6=Close
F7=Reply
F8=Forward
F9=Send
F10=Spell
F11=Save
F12=Print
These are the functions ..at least on my computer,but they can be edited to do what you want'em to do.

Ok. Each one of these could be set up to do something. For example: F11 is used to make internet explorer go FULL SCREEN, and it makes it go back to the reguler screen also. Sometimes these are used on games also.
