When you consider the changes in American society between 1950 and 2000, considering social, economic, and technological changes, would you conclude that the United States experienced more progress or decline during this period of recent history? Defend your argument with specific examples.

socially, isnt that subjective? a lot has changed, but whether that's considered progress or decline is debatable. (50's housewives, 60-70s civil rights movement, hippies, etc, 80-90's hair bands and fads etc etc)

economically, we've been doing the same cycle of highs and lows as the economy is historically known to do, though if you're talking about economic systems and structure of american economy, not too much has changed.

technologically speaking of course, there has been plenty of progress, at an exponentially higher rate than ever before. (medicine, internet, even video games and cars)

Of course it experienced growth in some areas, decay in others and stasis, or lateral change in others. Equal rights grrowth. seperation of the classes and other socio economic indicators, decay. drug use lateral change, in the 50's housewives were valiumed out, in the 90's it was crystal meth.
