Not really where you live, but how long you've been there. Skin conductance plays a big part, as does metabolism. Indoors/outdoors also plays a factor. 72 degrees is just a median in a range of temperatures from the 100s to the 50s that naked well-fed people could eventually adapt to or feel some degree of comfort in without dying.

usually people like moderate temperature that is neither too hot nor toocold. Since our body temp is 37 degrees. But people feel comfortable in the place where they are born and brought up. Since our body has a quality of adopting and adjusting to surrounding temperatures. There are special proteins in our body called heatshock proteins whic regulate our body temperature at the genetic level.

Room temperature is the most comfortable - it's the temperature people choose to have! So 23 degrees Celcius. If people were most comfortable at 100 degrees, that's what we would make room temperature.

I think it must be different for different people. I know there are a wide range of "comfortable" temperatures for English people because the weather is so changeable! I guess Russians would be too hot in Australia but Ozzies are used to the heat so they would be too cold in Russia.

Depend son where they live. I, here in Florida, like the temp to be around 76 degrees indoors. But if I'm swimming or something, I like the water to be warm.

I like it cold, Mrs Codrock likes it hot.
Really I'm like one of the 3 billy goats gruff. If I'm hot then I would prefer to be cold. And vice versa.
