Tell them exactly what you posted here. They should excuse or re-schedule you.
I was summoned while away at college, and was waived/excused twice because of that (since I was not living in town at the time). If you're studying in college, they will excuse you, so you don't miss any education.
You shouldn't have a problem with it.

No.# 1 answered your question dont go with no.#2 you will be held in contempt. Call the courthouse if you have never put jury duty off before they will give you another date.

just call the court house or go up there and ask them if you could re shedule because you had paid months in advance for this vacation its non refundable and you would be happy to serve another time im sure that they would understand

Just contact the court system and tell them you want to re-schedule your service and tell them the reason why. It should not be a big deal.
