I would check to see if you have any Rockler or Woodcraft stores in your area. They usually have specialty woods since they are stores that are for the fine woodworker. They also do have online catalogs. I have attached there websites.

Try going on line and look up Emerson Hardwoods, and Crosscut hardwoods,they may have an outlet near you. I have never seen Rosewood at Home Depot, or Lowe's. There are hundreds of web sites you can see, if you type in most any building material.

I know that Lowes has a section of SAS (sanded all sides) hardwoods in smaller lengths for the hobbiest. They also sell half sheets of plywood and can cut those further for free in the store. For better wood at less cost go call a large custom cabinet shop to see if they sell odds and ends. I use one when I need small sections of hardwood veneered plywood and solid hardwood for cabinet stiles plus various trim for jobs. Some just toss those in a dumpster or pile and may say come get what you want.
