These are examples of the proposed classfication of the kinds of theories I think exist:
Evolutionary theory is an inductive theory based on inference from the facts/empirical data gathered & interpreted by scientists by applying the scientific method which assumes the natural world we live in operates following deterministic rules..

Intelligent Design Argument is a combination of the speculative, inductive&deductive kinds of theories. Inductive&deductive bec it is based on inferences fm empirical data gathered by scientists interpreted from a biblical point of view which assumes or presupposes that a creator god exists & that the world we live in operates based on god's will. It is a philosophically speculative theory with a long history that goes back to Aristotle who thinking on metaphysic matters logically deduced the existence of a prime mover or First Cause fm first principles like "every event has a cause", etc
Math theory is deductive bec it deduces theorems from axioms.

The examples are for illustrative purposes only. I am interested in your views on the classificatory scheme more than your classification of the bodies of ideas referred to as theories.

Hey Panacea, please explain why you even bothered to post. Is it your way of feeling less inferior than others by showing how impressively superior you are to the rest of us who ask questions seeking real answers? People like you are going to kill this venue which is an experiment in using the internet for better purposes.

yummyyum you and panacea should get together since neither of you know how to respond intelligently to the question posed.

The world is often split in people who are "lumpers" and those who are "splitters". I am a lumper as I find it helps my memory to categorize items into large all encompassing groups.

There are therefore only two Epistemologic routes. Inductive - following from observation or Deductive - following on from principles. Of course in reality most deductive approaches are semi inductive because there must be some initial seed of information to work with that is taken from the outside world. The only true deduction: a priori : is "I think therefore I am." Everything else "deductive" has some shred of empirical observation as a jumping off point.

for what its worth.

It all sounds like Mad Science to me. It you recognize 4 kinds of theories, then there must be 4 more floating about. That's the nature of "every event has a cause", etc.
Intelligent, speculative, inductive & deductive reasoning is just "Human Theorems", and can be wrong or right. Math theory is the only one listed above that is based on proofs and facts, and it is what it is. So whatever is logical for you to recognize is your opinion and right to do so. Keep thinking, it leads to the river of dreams!

Yes. They have lived there since the time of Canaan. Originally the entire area was known as Al-sham and had a very highly developed culture; it still does although much has been destroyed by the zionist occupation. On the "right to exist" thing, yes it does imply that other counries do have a right not to maintain diplomatic relations. Countries that don't recognize the zionist government are accused "refusing to recognize" it's "right to exist' a p.r. man's dream-come-true since it carries the implication that they desire to murder it's entire popluation and that as sovereign states they have no right to decide with whom they wish to develop diplomatic relations. Look at Iran. Zionist propaganda rlentlessly denounces it,it's alleged crime being that it Refuses to Recognize Israel's Right to Exist". Think of the hypocrisy. The zionist don't recognize the Iranian government, either nor have they ever made diplomatic overtures to establish relations. So far as I know neither country wishes to establish diplomatic relations or to recognize the other government. Iran isn't doing anything the zionists aren't doing. Why doesn't "israel" recognize iran's Right to Exist? By the way,it's also loaded terminlogy; it presupposes a right to exist that has merely to be "recognized". But many governments do not have a right to exist - like nazi germany, the ussr, etc. Or "isreal".

sounds as though you answered your question with your question although I might suggest that the answer is that 4 types are known to exist . humanity gets a little smarter every day and someone just might come up with a way to posit information that we haven't considered. let me suggest that math theory might be speculative in nature also as it requires us to accept a set of assumptions at a base level to make some analyzes (?) work.

If you understood the scientific method, you would realize how ridiculous your proposal sounds. Go read a book.

In the end they are all theories. Not a 'LAW'.
That should sum it all up.
