No. It gives you something to look forward to. Also gives you time to gain knowledge about voting through your schooling.

Yes, if the teen will be of age during that officials term in office. Why? Because that teen will be affected in some way..economics..etc....so I feel that teen should have the opportunity to voice their vote. Teens are up to date with politics due to having it in school, more so than that of some adults who cast their vote with not knowing the facts.

Absolutely not!! Voting is so important and has such tremendous consequences, that its' practice should be restricted. In fact, voting should require an I.Q test!!!! That way f*cked up laws like CA's anti gun laws and property taxes should be voted on by people who know what they are voting on. F*cked up laws like in MS where education is being hurt by religious zealots who keep state and national lotteries from taking place, losing the state hundreds of millions of dollars over beliefs!! Teens would probably end up giving us back Clinton and make Democrats a bigger party, and not necessarily because it has the best intentions for our country.

No, the voting system is fair the way it is, but I think the laws should change regarding age of consent, and the drinking and smoking age should be 18 for all, because if you're old enough to vote and join the military then you should not be restricted from drinking and smoking if you chose to do so.

No taxation without representation.
The teens who have jobs and earn an income should be allowed to vote because they are being taxed.
However, chances are that most of them won't really put in the effort to find out who/what they are actually voting for. (Of course, most adults don't do that either).
Or maybe their income just shouldn't be taxed. Most of them aren't making a whole lot of money anyway.

Nope. Hey if you want to be given such a privilege than you need to earn it. You young people these days are so immture and full of yourselves you can't think straight...how do you possibly think you could vote? Besides half of you don't give a damn about politics anyway so your vote would just be an uneducated vote and we don't want that do we. So if you teenagers want to be able to have privileges like voting, you need to shape up and show us adults that you are mature and responsible.

OOooohhh hell no. They would only vote on what seems popular, they way they make every other decision in their lives. "Oh it's so cool to hate Bush, so I'll vote against him" I can already hear it...I'm fine with that if you have some logic and informed reasoning to back it up, but most teenagers are too impulsive to put the time into getting actual facts.

I personally think you should have to be and EDUCATED voter. You should have know know so much info about the issues before you cast your vote. But then again many problems could arise from this so... but yeah I do not think anyone under 18 should have that privilege.

Teenagers don't know anything. If anything they should raise the voting age to 30. Most people have grown a brain by then.

Only for American Idol.
That's about the extent of their sophistication and understanding of the world.
Personally, I'd make every voter take a test before letting them vote, to show some minimum level of understanding of US government and world events.
