Hi

My wife has given birth to our first born and will be bringing him home saturday night. There is one big problem tho. Im a bit computer illiterate and dont really understand them. I can barely get onto this website to ask for your help. I downloaded something of a mature nature last night and my computer has got a virus. Obvioulsy i dont want these germs about when my son is brought home. I need to somehow contain this virus so that he doesnt catch it. Our computer is in our front room where he will be during the day. i dont want him breathing in this virus from the computer. Is there a vaccination he can get before he comes home so he doesnt catch this. I know these viruses can wipe your memory and im terrified this will happen to him and cause long lasting effects so his memory will never develope. Should i create some sort of quarentine for the computer or maybe get a very small mask for my son so hes not breathing it in? Please help me, he is being brought home in a few days.

the home is unsafe for your newborn...

you need to totally sterilise the environment....

FIRST, get rid of the offending mechanism that has caused you this grief.
Ensure every square mm is scrubbed with disinfectant, wash all linens, ie curtains table cloths, bedding etc.
Leave to dry in direct sunlight, and iron well with a hot scorcher to get every sceric of this virus out.
Anything of a sponge-effect ie mattresses, lounges, pillows, should be thrown and replaced with hard plastic therefore allowing nothing to breed in these types of wanted household needs, and allows for easy clean after wards.
You are almost there...
NEXT, wrap your home in plastic; seal doors, vents, windows in plastic, that way you will know that nothing will get in!

Ta-da! Your very own bubble home, and a bubble boy on the way ! You'll be sure glad you listened to me!

PS Don't forget, you ALL will need masks, not just new bubba

OK relax, computer virus are just that, contain in the computer, they infect your files and allow other people to see into your computer. It is not a flu and not in danger of giving your baby an illness. Just get an any virus guard from your nearest computer shop. And maybe take an evening course on computers infact that would help you in more ways than one. Congratulations on your baby am i have a feeling that you may not get to enjoy your computer so much now your baby is coming home. Take care.

Funny how your girlfriend all of a sudden became your wife. How is your 19 year old daughter. Did she join an all girls team for the rugby? How did your son become your first born when you already have a daughter? I guess you should get a plastic bubble and stick your son in it. That way the virus wont wipe his memory.

You are a pure nut you know that. First lets start off with this...How old are you and where is your wife when you are typing these strange messages. Your kid cant catch a computer virus. HE'S NOT A COMPUTER. Just like humans catch human viruses, computers can only catch other computer viruses. You need to go to church and Pray for forgiveness of this stupid question. ~sheesh~

Your son will definitely need a mask to prevent him breathing in the virus. I caught a computer virus two years ago. It was terrible. I had to install a really powerful anti-virus program into myself to get better, but I still malfunction occasionally. This would be no good for your baby, as his memory would be too small for it. Get a mask.

This is not virus that you are thinking of....it means that it has effected your hard drive...in other words it wiped out all your files on the computer and will effect any work you do on the computer. call geek squad they will explain it better then I can and they can fix your computer. This not a virus that effects humans

Before your wife brings the baby home, get the doctor to check his hard disk and load adequate virus protection on to him. As long as you keep his virus protection up to date, the baby should be fine. If he does behave strangely, turn the baby off from the mains and reboot the baby... if symptoms still persist, then destroy the baby.
Good luck.

You really know that little about computers?
Oh please.
Just in case you're not bluffing, nothing except computers can catch computer viruses. Just get some antivirus software. It's really cheap.
