you will note that geographically across the world there are diffrent mannerism/body language in communications . In my personal opinion

Asian : do not gesticulate much with their hands while communicating and use their heads much more to evoke reponse

Europeans : will gesticulate even lesser and use the entire body
as a part of communicating mood

English will use speech modulations, choice of words

Americans: gesticluate and speech

Its more to do with the kind of montessori training in the formative years.

That's a really good question. I guess it's a mannerism that is picked up as part of their culture, like Americans doing the thumbs up.

We all use gestures. I can remember living in Italy many years ago. The Italian people use their hands very very frequently, especially while driving their little Fiats and boy, do they get mad sometimes. Those hands go wild.

My i guess is...it was a habit started along time ago, that later became a way of life and expression to the Indian people. it then became trait in their DNA(i guess). and now...its part of their lives.

I am from Bangladesh and I find that it's very fun and a nice way of sign language and a nice way to show off. It's highly enjoyable. Try it sometime!
