It really depends on which college you go to. I go to Boston University and am overloading, so I don't have much time for partying. You also need to look at the cost of living in your college town because you might be forced to get a job just to pay to wash your clothes! You should definitely check out the entertainment scenes in your college town to make sure they do have one! There are surprisingly a lot of people at my school who don't know how to do their own laundry, write checks etc which actually shocked me. Otherwise, most time is spent studying, sleeping, eating foods you shouldn't, and hanging out with friends until wee hours of the morning because there is no adult to tell you otherwise. Also, make sure one of the first things you do is get a school planner, so you don't freak out trying to remember everything you have to do!

I just finished my second year of college, and personally, I spent most of my time on the computer. Especially in the beginning of the semester when you don't get as much work. So definately look into getting a job (on or off campus), join clubs, check out fraternities and sororities (but not for the drinking), and make lots of friends. And most importantly, make friends with people OTHER than you're roommate, because I guarantee you'll be sick of them by the end of the year. My freshman year roommate and I don't even look at one another anymore.

how does one spend their time depends on what one went there to do in the first place!
in college, you study hard, you learn new things, you research and read in the library and make your own notes. you make good friends and organise a study group. you make friends with other students who are ambitious and have a vision and common goals in life.
you become self disciplined and organised and realise purpose in your life.
you can access the sports facilities and you can combine work and study in the most enjoyable and beneficial ratio.

depends where u go to school, if u go to a community college u don't get the fun and excitement of living in a dorm, and being part of a soriety. I went to community college, and made alot of friends and i enjoyed myself. Any where u go, u will have to make it fun. It's not always gonna be as badass as u want it to be. Good Luck! have fun :)
