A lot of people would ONLY ever wear a white wedding dress. Some will even go as far as wearing cream. I think that I don't want to wear a white wedding dress. I greatly prefer cream or beige or even light pink. What do you think?

My theme is going to be a beach wedding- I'm getting married on the beach. It's going to be a really casual and small affair. I was even thinking of not getting a wedding dress at all- just a nice formal dress.
Also, I'm not religious and I think that whole "you have to be a virgin when you get married" is really dated (and rather sexist), so I am not concerned with portraying a virginal image.

Bethany- that dress is amazing! I think that I've seen it before. I'm sure that you were beautiful in it!

I'm very pale too (light blond hair, blue eyes, fair skin), so white would make me look like a light bulb- yet another reason to wear a color!!:)

I wore an ivory dress with a broad red trim on the top that went down the front and opened up into the skirt. It had bronze and gold embroidered flowers in the red part. I loved it and it was the only dress I even considered.
I did go with red roses for me, cream roses and bronze dresses for the girls, and an ivory cake with red rose petals.
You have to get your colors to go together.
I've seen some gorgeous dresses in color.

Since you are getting married on the beach it would be beautiful to have a cream colored dress with pink or peach accents. That would bring out the colors already associated with the beach.
I am a Christian but I do agree with you on the ' no need to portray a virgin " thing. Your dress should make you look and feel special and if white isn't your color then find a color that makes you glow. All brides should glow on their wedding day and don't let anyone push you into a color that you are uncomfortable in.
Best wishes.

Whats the theme of your wedding? I LOVE the idea of a colored wedding dress! It has been done before, and i'm sure it will be done again! Be sure to not go too extreme on the color! Most girls base the theme and feeling of their wedding off the dress. Your wedding day is YOUR day, so make it what YOU want, and don't let others effect your decisions!

Wear what you want. But if you want to be quasi-traditional, wear a light color. Cream is perfectly normal for a wedding dress - it just looks better on some people and if they don't care about the 'white wedding' thing, it's a great choice.

I chose to wear an off white gown. I am very pale to start with and trying to wear a white gown just made me look like a ghost.
I'm divorced now and if I remarry, I don't even know if I'd bother with the whole wedding gown thing. It's really a pain in the tush!

My parents have objected to me wearing a black, white, and silver wedding gown in my "future" wedding. It would mostly be white but it will be lined with silver and black. I did not want to look like every other bride with the white and off white only so I decided to go gothica. Anyways, I suggest that you pick three colors that blends in well together and express who you are.

I wore a white dress but would not be opposed to a colored dress. I think my favorite example was Gwen Stefani's dress that went from white to pink it was gorgeous. Good Luck

It would depend on the style but yes I am open to a colored wedding dress. I think pink is a great color. However, I really don't think anything other than pastels, should be worn. Like Red....ewww.
