Look for openings then bid on them. I think that having a bachelor's degree in Engineering has been the key to a lot of my job success. It really helps because there are a lot of openings and they pay pretty well. I did have to bid for 10 years before i was promoted to supervisor. But that turned out not to be a perfect job. I like my current job, instructor.

I think the best way is to know someone. "not what you know, but who you know" im still in college and my dad's good friend is a chemist, and he got me a job as a lab assistant, the best job for me now, because im studying pre-pharmacy, and i think it will help build my credentials.
