I would say have her get a job. If possible for you maybe you could offer to pay so much towards what she makes. (IE For every $10.00 she makes you'll add $1.00 to her account) It doesn't seem like much but it will add up. Use the tempting "You'll be getting a lic. soon so you should start saving now for a car!!!" It will teach her many things in life and will make her more responisble than if she got to "play" all summer. Maybe you could get her into babysitting or doing yard work for friends. There are always odd jobs out there that people are willing to pay to have done. The Sports idea is good too...is she interested in any??? Try to find something that will be fun but will take up most of her time...thus keeping her out of trouble but keep her wanting to go back.

Well this can't be too hard! First of all, if your daughter likes sports, try and find a neighbor, or friend to play with her, even her dad after work(if he gets home b4 dark) would be good. Most I can say is trying to get her outside, if there are any sports programs that you can enroll in this late, go ahead. Maybe you can try to do things with her during the day. Put limits on how much TV and computer she can do during light hours. Try to get involved in her life, even making stuff together like Choc Chip cookies, or if she has a hobby (not including electronics) take advantage of it! If she likes to read, get a new book every now and then. If she is creative, try getting the old paint set out and try to catch her interest.

My siser does a dog walking service for people who work, she takes out their dogs twice a day, keeps her busy also makes a little spending money for her, also any park district has summer camps and stuff that are free or low cost, not only with sports but music, nature walks and stuff like that.

If you have lots of pictures, how about scrapbooking? She could go to the library perhaps and find books on this; TV shows focus on this as well; perhaps there would be a free program to learn how to - they may even provide free materials. Material possibilities are countless. Use natural materials. Use scraps of paper. Inexpensive construction paper.

I think that you should put her in a summer camp for kids!
In camps they take kids on field trips and try to keep the kids disciplined and occupied! It is actually fun!

Send her to a relatives house that doesn't live near you. I'm sure she can use a vacation. I know I could. My moms sending me to a friend 3 states away. : ) Take her to the beach a lot. ask her what she wants to do. My mom just kicks me out of the house and tells me to find something to do. But it's not really safe anymore.

A lot of churches have different programs available to everyone. See what is in your area. And also check into day camps and other such programs
