For a general practitioner or gynecologist, I prefer a women. I just think women are sensitive to issues that apply to themselves and can make that yearly checkup a little less embarrassing. For a psychiatrist, I prefer a man. I have almost all male friends, I can open up to men much more easily.
For anything else I don't care.

I like same sex when it comes to physicians, but I've heard good arguments for opposite sex.

I think it all depends on what I am going there for? There is not alot of women doctors in my area.

I don't really care. I try to find the most competent one (they are so few and far between these days....).
