If you do not subscribe and still receive the papers you are not entitled or required to pay.
Contact the paper's home Circulation office to clear up any questions and have them enlighten the delivery person.

How much money are you talking about? Give the poor kid a break. I don't think she is in charge of subscriptions. She just delivers papers to who ever her employers tell her too. They will probably take it out of her pocket if you don't pay.
Make sure that the PAPER knows that you have cancelled your subscription. Don't just tell the paper girl.

Did you keep records of your phone calls? Did you write a letter to the newspaper company cancelling your paper? If not then do so. If so, then report to the police you are being harassed. Keep records of everything.

It sounds like you have done what you could. The only other step you could take is to cancel the paper in writing. If you've done that, you don't owe anything.

Its your fault and your responsibility to pay for the paper if you only told her you didnt want to resubscribe but if you called and told the company you didnt want it delivered then i say dont pay it because its their fault.

Ask for proof. When you subscribe for something, there got to be some kind of write or note that took place.
