I am 33 weeks pregnant and my baby is still breech! I have tried several different exercises but they aren't working. I've heard that if he is still breech after 34 weeks, he most likely will stay that way!

Does anyone have any suggestions, maybe there is someting I haven't tried!

Is this baby #1? If it is, chances are that he will stay that way, though not 100%, if this is not baby 1, then there is no need to start worrying until about 36 weeks. If you get a baby at 33 weeks to turn, it is likely that it will turn back, so I would suggest doing some research on breech delivery, methods for turning-especially external version, homopathy, accupuncture, and moxibustion, as well as having a chat with your caregiver as to their views on breech delivery vs c-sections. It would also be helpful to know what type of breech you baby is.

If you want to contact me by email I may be able to give you some better help with some more details.

All the best and good luck!

Stop freaking out. My first was breech, and she turned on her own. There are no exercises, etc., that will work, and very few doctors know how to properly perform a de-breeching. Why risk any harm to your baby? I've had 2 C-sections & I was wide awake for both. And my hubby was present at both. They are not as bad as you have been lead to believe. Your main goal should be for a healthy baby, and a healthy you, no matter how you end up delivering your baby. Hey, even Angelina had to go the C-section way cuz her little baby Pitt was breech. So relax, and do a little reading on Casearean birth. You'll be glad you did. Peace.

I actually think the statistics for breech birth are 4% to 5%. From personal experience, the baby can turn at any point in time; and that works both ways - from vertex to breech and from breech to vertex. How do I know this? Both situations happened to me. I have 4 children. #1 was a natural birth. #2 was in vertex position just a few days before birth, but at the last minute (just prior to inducing labor) it was discovered he was breech, and I did have to have a c-section. Yes, the recovery time is a bit longer. Child #3 was found to be in breech position just 6 days before birth, and I was scheduled for c-section, however, because of holiday schedule of doctors, my c-section was scheduled after the holiday, and I had a lot of activity (baby movement) through those 6 days. I told the nurses about this and wanted the doc to check me before doing the c-section, however, (long story) that did not happen. I did end up with a c-section with this child as well, however, she DID TURN during that 6 days, and a C-section would not have been necessary. My advise to you is to have your doctor check you for sure right before birth, and if you feel uncomfortable with their lack of concern - be persistent. In hindsight, I wish I would have insisted that the doctor re-check me before she did the c-section (but I was naive). By the way my 4th child was a daughter also and I was able to work with a very wonderful ob/gyn who was willing to try me on labor, and I was blessed to have her by natural birth after having 2 cesarean sections - which is a little unusual - some doctors will not evey try that. Best wishes to you and your family.

When it's time to deliver the Dr will try to turn him. It's a little painful, but it works sometimes. Also depending on the size of the baby, they can SOMETIMES deliver him breech. Most likely you'll need a c-section, which isn't that bad. I've had one and I healed pretty quickly. Don't worry. Just enjoy being pregnant. This should be a happy, exciting time for you. Good Luck!

My baby was breech for a long time also. My midwife wasn't concerned at all. They can turn anytime until they're born. Only 2% of babies stay breech, that's not very many. Your baby still has lots of time to turn. Mine ended up turning in time. If your baby should happen to stay breech, you doctor can manually turn it also, providing there are no complications in your pregnancy.
God Bless

I am addicted to the baby channel. I saw an episode on breeched babies and it's true. By that time you'll probably be scheduled for c-section. Good luck

I wouldn't worry too much. Some babies just stay breech right up to the last minute, and there's things the doctors can do too.

my son was breech at 33 weeks as well and he did not turn and i ended up having him at 36 weeks because i went into labor and i had pre-eclampsia.
I had a c-section.

If the baby dosen't turn which it could you might as well plan on having a c section

Quit worrying. I was a breech baby, 27 and going strong.
Oh and my mother delivered me the normal way.

Let nature take its course. Worse case is C-section and it's not bad at all. Recovery is a little longer. Dont worry some babies turn while in labor too.
