I've had that it hurts. Try these things to help easy the pain.
1. Asprine
2. Hot bath,in salt. Rest in the bath about an hour.
3. Heat pad,on your neck and lay down until your neck is better.
4. Go to the mall, find a water therapy tank. Pay as much as you want to be in there for. You'll be able to move your neck again after the treament.
5. If all those all don't help it,then go to the hospital for some help.
I hope this helps out and feel better.

I had a really stiff neck a couple of years ago, and had to go to physical therapy. Here is what they had me do...
Take a bed sheet(preferably twin sized) fold it the long way, and tie in a knot at the end to make a "sling". Put the sling on a door knob(with the door shut of course), lie down on the floor and put the back of your head in the sling. Slide your bottom away from the door so that there is a little pulling on your neck and "hang" there for about 20 minutes. Do this a couple of times a day until your neck loosens up!!

Do you have a hot water bottle or Magic Bag (a fabric bag with grain in it that you can heat)? Try those to relax the tense muscles. A good muscle relaxant can help too but can make you drowsy. If you don't want the muscle relaxant, try ibuprofen. It will help with the muscle inflammation.

Go see a chiropractor. They truly are miracle workers when you are in pain. While you're at it, schedule a massage for yourself and have them relax away the tension.

Take tylenol or motrin, or something stronger, if you have it. Have a glass of wine if you are old enough.
