We can be called human beings, it's all related to the physical part, not of what we think or what we do.

You tend to imply that 'Human Beings' in the past have been a
group of merry people that help each other and laugh all day whilst drinking gin.
I mean throughout human kind, it has been the same story, wars and all the rest.
Humans are just humans.
Maybe could be that today we are more informed due to the media, but all the issues you have mentioned have always existed.

Has civilization changed much from the days we were fighting neanderthals, throwing Christians to the lions, burning women at the stake by the hundreds of thousands, sponsoring genocide against the Jews or any of the other inhumanity we've committed on ourselves? So what makes the current situation different from what has gone on in the past?

Beasts of the Earth -
When the world faces acts of terrorism are we not facing beasts of the earth (Jude 1:10-11, Titus 1:12, 2 Pet.2:11-13 below)?
Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain (1 Jn.3:12, Matt.13:38), and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Titus 1:12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
2 Pet 2:11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
2 Pet.2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
2 Pet.2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

I think you have just listed all the things that MAKE us humans.
Animals have no wars, world leaders, corruption, incentive language(or any kind of language), photos, charities, religion, etc etc.
All these things MAKE us human, so yes we are still human beings --- just as always. War, corruption, lies -- existed as long as humans have, they define humanity. Without them we would be monkeys.

What is the real definiton of humans anyway? Doesn't those things define us as humans? You just look at the darker side, what about the lighter side of humans? All men has goodness in them.
