Also note that after you eat, you generally feel cold because most of your body's blood is diverted to your stomach to aid in digestion.

Our bodies use much blood and energy in the digestion process. This takes away blood supplied with oxygen from other parts of the body, causing us to tire or feel sleepy soon after eating.

I had a friend that had a theory on this. When we were babies, what was one of the things we did after we ate? We took a nap. Maybe we were trained to sleep after we had lunch or dinner and we just never grow out of it. It comes naturally...as instinct.

after you eat, your blood goes mainly to your gut to help carry out digestion. this Can make you feel sluggish for a little bit but if you're tired for like an hour or 2 after you eat a normal meal then you might be anemic. and should probably get that checked out.

After you eat, lots of oxygen is required for the digestion process and thus blood circulation becomes more in stomach, leading to less blood supply in the brain............ that leads to a sleepy feeling.

your body is using alot of energy to break down the food you ate in your stomach. The food itself could also make you sleepy, an example being turkey which has tryptophan in it that makes you sleepy.
