Not sure where you are from, so I don't know what temperature system you use. October can be beautiful. Some years we have Indian Summer in early October --the days are mild, and can reach 17 celsius -- that's about 60 fahrenheit, I believe -- or it can pour down rain the entire month. It's beautiful in Vancouver in October. The trees are turning colours, so you have flaming maples, yellow birch, etc. Because Vancouver is near the ocean, the climate stays temperate and you might get frost overnight, but it will be warm and pleasant during the day. You'll find the seawall full of bikers, walkers, skaters, etc. and the harbour full of boaters -- False Creek abounds in dragon boats, outrigger canoes, kayaks, etc.
Hope this helps.

I actually love Vancouver in October. Yes, it's true that it rains a lot, but, it's such a beautiful time of year. All the leaves are about a thousand different co lours, and the weather is fairly mild (and usually pretty dry). All you need are a couple of sweaters, light jackets, comfortable shoes, and a traveling mug!! (to keep you warm while you take in this amazing city!).
Hope you like it!

The climate is very similar to Seattle, so it will be fairy warm (you'll probably just need a light cotton jacket or fleece) but you'll definitely need an umbrella!
