Monkeytail is right. Costs vary on the pills depending on type and where you live. Side effects vary. Strengths of the pill vary because there are different types of pills. Go to Planned Parenthood, the Health Department, or your doctor to get more information. You can even ask to read the side effects sheets that come with the pills.
You also might want to check out the website below from Brown University informing students about birth control. I typed in "types of birth control" into Yahoo and got this as one of the sites to go to. It was really good.

The pills vary ibn prices and you can find them in the range of $10- $15. Usaully all birth control methods do have side effects. Some of the ones I know are, weight gain, Irregular bleeding, and sometimes growth of hair on the face. I would advise you to see a health consultant on this matter and help you choose which method can be appropiate for you. I wish you the very best .

Prescription birth control is really bad for you. It has chemicals in it and food coloring which is quite toxic. I use an herbal birth control, Mexican Wild yam. I take 3 pills in the morning and 3 at night. What it does is it hardens your eggs. That's it. I have NEVER gotten pregnant while on it. I stopped taking it for a whole month and then I got pregnant the next month. So won't affect your ability to have children when you are off of it.
Not only birth control for me, but it regulates my period. I have less cramps and my period is always on time (twice it wasn't because I was under massive stress).
If I were you, I would go for any herbal ways (if you do it right you won't get pregnant).
Anything prescription is really bad for you.
Do your research because I have!

Side effects are WEIGHT GAIN number one, so don't pig out on them or you will gain weight. MOODINESS is another big one.
Can be next to free, if you go to your local Health Department, they usually charge you what you are able to pay. I always told them I was unemployed and my exam and pills were like $30 for the whole year. When I had to buy them on my own it was $30 a month.

More than condoms, unless you are really active sexually. Like $10-14/pack BC pills. Some kinds cost twice this much!

I think they cost between $30 and $35--depending on the brand, strength, and quantity you are buying.
The pill can cause abnormal clotting of the blood, and other things, particularly if you smoke.

prices and side effects are different for each pill...
you can go to your local health department and depending on your income that you make - you can get a discount on them or get them for free....check with them...they will also tell you side effects...

Talk about weird answers here. Just be careful taking any kind of synthetic hormones. It seems you hear one thing and then you hear the opposite. If you don't really need to take them don't.

If you plan on getting pregnant in the future, don't use it. This can cause side effects and sometime, damage you internal.
