We are heading down this weekend for a Cubs-Reds baseball game. We are staying at Hapton Riverside in Covington, KY. Where are good places to eat? Other things to do (2 young kids)? What is the weather supposed to be like?

For breakfast or brunch, try First Watch; they have a great menu selection, and a good location in downtown Cincy, on Seventh Street.
You have to try Skyline Chili; some people love it, some people don't get it, but it is a Cincy tradition. There are lots of locations, too.
For dinner, if you like Indian food, Ambar in Clifton is wonderful. Also, Montgomery Inn's ribs are world famous, but it can get pricey.
Graeter's Ice Cream is also a must; their ice cream is shipped all over the world, and it is worth an after-dinner visit. Again, a number of locations to choose from.
Also, there are several nice restaurants located at Newport on the Levee, in Newport, across the river from Cincy, probably close to where you are staying. It also happens to be where the Aquarium is located. My son loved it, and he is 19 months old. There is also small mall at the Levee.
The Zoo is nice, but it should be hot this weekend, and it isn't located in the best of neighborhoods. Notwithstanding, it is a lovely zoo, and I used to enjoy walking there.
There is also a nice natural history musuem, but I have not been there in awhile.
There are several malls in the area, but most are just like any other malls you will find elsewhere. There is a Gap Outlet, one exit west from the airport exit in Northern Kentucky. It is huge, and pretty inexpensive; you may have to sift through alot of nasty stuff, but I have gotten some really great bargains there.
Also, if you like grocery shopping, there is a huge grocery store/entertainment center called Jungle Jim's in Fairfield, about 1/2 hour north of Cincy. It has about a million different kinds of food from around the world, wines, beers, cheeses, etc. They also have a bunch of kitsch exhibits, and a dancing Elvis bear.

There's an aquarium in Covington. I'm not sure where, or what the name is exactly, but you're kids will probably go gaga over it. As far as family friendly food, I'm not 100% sure where it is, but just north of Cincy is a restaurant called Pizza Tower. I remember it being a fun experience. If time and money allows, there's also King's Island and their waterpark. Plus I remember a HUGE mall up there. I believe it was Tri-County Mall. I THINK it's actually in Covington. That's a possibility depending on how old the kiddies are...I guess it won't really work if they're 1 and 3.

the weather is in the 80s around now. Some good things to do with kids if they like animals are to take them to the Newport Aquarium or the Cincinnati Zoo. There is a restaurant that I personally like called First Watch (which is for breakfast, brunch, and lunch).

Cincinatti is the birthplace of William Howard Taft, the only man to be President and Chief Justice. The house is a National Historic Site:

Foodwise, Cincinatti is famous for five-way chili.

THE BEST PLACE TO EAT IS THE MONTGOMERY INN BOAT HOUSE. This place is right on the river. A little higher price but the Ribs are AMAZING Go there. YOu might want to check out Xavier University for a college if you need to go. Have fun

Well if you have kids go to Skyline. They have great conies. For fancy restaurants check out http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-2737999-cincinnati_restaurants-i;_ylt=AoD_.I52_eWdOP5VdgsymPylFmoL If you have time and the weather shapes up there is King's Island. The Zoo and botanical gardens. Some riverboat cruises.
Its supposed to rain this weekend though.

Avoid downtown like the plague. There are at least 2 shootings a day there, the city's crime rate is soaring and no relief in sight.

Eat Montgomery Inn. A Must.
