I'm usually very good at picking out gifts, but I'm all out of ideas this time around. Buyings things for my father is pretty much a no-brainer because he is a movie buff, and is handy around the house. But it's a little bit more difficult to figure out what my father in-law might like. He likes to travel, especially to places of historical significance. He's a traditional meat and potatos guy, but doesn't drink or smoke. He likes to watch sports, especially soccer. And dresses conservatively, but doesn't wear ties often. Any ideas? My budget is $50 or less.

If he likes to travel get him something travel related. It doesn't have to be expensieve, just something to show you care about him and konw what he likes.

Does he like to lounge outside in the evening? Maybe he has a patio set or lawn chairs already. You can get one of those self contained patio fire pits. They sell for around $60.00.

They make a great gift, if he doesn't already have one. We love ours! It keeps you warm in the cool evenings and it keeps the bugs away.

Or maybe a hammock. They have real nice ones these days that are easy to get in and out of. They even have a folding hammock (like a lawn chair).

A fish aquarium is also a good gift

Soccer Tickets.

Historical book of his hometown (or the town he lives in).

Historical nick-nak.

Reservations for Dinner in a neighboring town.

Good Luck!
