some ppl sometimes say i'm on the g level or i use to be on the g level... i'm assuming its not a good thing.. ususlly ppl from like the cities or urban communities say this...i'm just wondering what excatly does it mean??

i use to live in manhatten now i live in tn(diff) and in the streets n such on ppl would say stuff like this..

the term "g" is derived from gang terminology describing someone who is "gangsta....g=gangsta" the term "OG" sprung up from that...meaning original gangsta.....describing someone who's been in the life for a long period of time and is respected. white upper and middle class teens adopted this term and started using it to describe their friends who are carismatic or are always open to do things and go places. i don't know your background so it's up to you to decide which category you fit under

It means that you are a person that is:
cool
has it going on
pimp
player
has money
has a nice car
has nice clothes
popular
good looking
That gives you an idea of "G" level. It can encompass all those words or phrases. But all in all, it means a good thing

Maybe you are not on the gangster level. I have never heard of this but from the way it sounds from what you say it means not cool anymore and you used to be.

It is like a g-string and it isn't one that is crooked but has been put on with care. (i.e. Yo homey that honey is g-level.)
