I also have very aggressive mint that is growing everywhere and I can't seem to get rid of it. What can I use to get rid of the unsightly weeds and mint? I have a dog, so I don't want to use alot of chemicals that might give her cancer , since she walks around by the weeds. Help please!

First pull them up by the root. Then spray the weed-be-gone on the areas where the weed was.I will work because for the longest time I had them but I don't anymore.

You will have to dig them up, you may have to dig quite deep, and on either side of the weeds and the roots can run horizontally under the ground and pop up elsewhere. It is quite a task, but it should do the trick. Any new growth must be pulled as soon as you see it. Good luck. Too bad you don't have a cat, they LOVE the mint :)

Best way to get get rid of them for good is to dig them up - no chemicals, and if you get the roots, you'll not see them again. If you have hard ground, soak them for about 15 minutes and wait 1/2 hour, then pull at the base of the plant while wiggling the plant gently from side to side - that usually will loosen the root and allow you to extract the entire plant.

You have to pull weeds out by the root. Otherwise, try a combination of one litre of hot water mixed with one cup of vinegar and a teaspoon each of salt and dishsoap.

How about after you clean them all out, cut them down or however you get rid of them, put down some of the plastic liner around them if in a bed and put something, your choice to hold the plastic liner down, decorative rocks, bed fillers, etc.
