It is a tuxedo jacket I am assuming. It is best to leave it up to the professionals. Without follow the dart seams exactly the jacket could be ruined.
If you still would like to alter. Measure shoulders from end to end, waist above and below belly button. And chest across the broadest part. (Usually right where the nipples are, but that is not a nice way to say it.)
Then take it in accordingly with pin try it on. DO NOT CUT TILL YOU KNOW IF IT FITS!!!!! then when it is fitted properly sew, still not cutting. Try on again, if it still fit proper cut and sow on lining.
