I know! I used to live in a hole, about 100 feet deep, and every time someone would walk up to the hole, they would always look down on me. Pathetic if you ask me.

I don't personally care what someone else thinks of me, but I do understand what you are saying because I live in the midwest and when I travel or meet people from other areas of the country it kind of cracks me up. Sometimes they act like we are all a bunch of ignorant bible thumpers out here, when actually they are the ignorant ones for making stupid generalizations about people. And, by the way, you don't have to live in the south to be a hick or a redneck -- I have met plenty of them in the northeast and on the west coast as well.

Yes, I do. I live in Indiana just across the Ohio River from Kentucky and they say I sound like a hick. It is true that when people find out where you live they shut you out in a minute. They are very rude. They act like they don't even know you because you are not up to their standards. It disgusting!

yes. although, not getting personal. fish aren't taken literally. but some people took the bate. some questions don't have anything to do with you, nor do they with me. so, i will not ASSUME this has anything to do with any of us. because, we all know what ASSUMING makes you. i haven't heard anyone call anyone a hick from my whole experience on here. i'm sorry your taking things in that such manner, must mean your going fishing for insults today. take them how you want them, the same things mean a hundred different ones.

no, i don't, because in the final analysis it doesn't matter in the least what anyone thinks, says or assumes about me, least of all someone that has no significance to my life. it's a strange personality quirk i have, and i don't take myself that seriously to begin with. i don't make such assumptions about people either, or judge them based on where they are from, their appearance, or how many children they have or don't have. and certainly i would expect the same consideration from someone that has a pattern of thinking that has progressed past that of a 16 year old. i have known quite a few people from mississippi, as well as have been good friends with some throughout my life, and generally they have been pretty good people, although i have met some idiots from there, just as i have from anywhere else.

I almost skipped passed this question but i need some more points and i have a point I would like to make aswell. Who gives a damn at how other people view you. Most people who live in better areas and houses have more bills and stress to maintain those luxuries. I live in a pretty bad area but oh well, what can I say... I struggle to maintain it, but it's mine and I love it, but if I could trade with someone who live like in a beach house...;)

I'm from central Pa. and they say that too. Hicks and hayseeds unite. Any name calling is low class. Get to know the person before you call them anything except their name.
