There is no make that is the most reliable. There are lemons in everything you buy, from the cheapest to the most expensive.I use a Dell 1200 Inspiron lapton, which cost $500, and it's been chucking along without problems since I got it.

I use the Alienware Aurora mALX notebook (http://alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Aurora_mALX/aurora-m_overview.aspx?SysCode=PC-LT-AURORA-M-ALX&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT) and I love it. No problems at all... however, it's a lil pricey.
