He's afraid of hurting the baby even though I've told him it's healthy. I need a one-on-one connection. (not a v!br8or) Plus, we had this problem before I was pregnant, too. (just not so final, then)
I feel much more connected to him, now that we're expecting, but I miss the physical connections. What would you do?

I would buy a book, print some things off of the internet or see a counselor that explains to him that it is safe. This is a common fear for men.

People sometimes just do not hear when someone they know says something. When it comes from an expert, all of a sudden it's like "hey, did you know that sex won't hurt the baby?". and you're sitting there like "duh, i've been trying to tell you". You need an expert to tell him. However, Don't say "i told you so"! My husband always calls me on that cause I'm always right :) but I have a hard time not saying "I told you so". Bad habit!!! :):)

Do you have any close friends who may have also been pregnant and they and their husbands continued to have sex during the pregnancy? If so, maybe they could be of help in talking to him casually. If his reasoning is honest then he simply needs to be reassured that through most of the pregnancy, unless the doctor advises otherwise, that it's perfectly safe to have sex. Also, he should know that for many women they find their sexual appetites to be higher than usual during certain times of their pregnancy and those can be very fulfilling times for both.

Best of Luck and congratulations on your coming baby !!

(1) sex during pregnancy is *not* dangerous to the baby, you just sometimes need to be a little creative about the position. Take care with the strenuous stuff, too - might be a good time to leave the whips and chains in the wardrobe!

(2) just make sure he comes home from work to find you naked and/or laid out on the bed, getting started without him. :)

oh my goodness only 12 weeks along and he is cutting you off already!! no no no.. first print out or find some information on sex during pregnancy or drag him to the GYN and let the DR. tell him how perfectly safe it is!!! and ..lol..... time to pull out the sexy lingerie... and start prancing about -teasing him..... if that don't work... perhaps a bit of self stimulation in front of him..and if you refuse to have any other type of sexual contact with him unless he gives you what you want ... he will cave in soon enough... yes its blackmail... but hey, all is fair in sex and pregnancy lol.. have a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby!

The general consensus on intercourse during pregnancy is absenting, however most people look at that very loosely.

It really depend on which trimester you are to see whether it would pose a threat to your pregnancy. But you still should refrain from doing since it would have implication on your baby on a long run.

Don't trade one night of pleasure for your baby's well-being, its not worth it.

This should be the time he has more sex with you. #1, it would do your head a world of good since you probably do not feel attractive right now, and #2, when my wife was pregnant, there was nothing sexier on the planet than her. A woman who was willing to have my child drove me crazy with lust and love!

Show him books that states it safe, take him with you to your doctor's appointment so they can tell him. I had the same problem with my husband when I was pregnant with our son. Most men don't realize that baby is so far up they can't hurt it and that he/she is well protected. Your husband is scared because he's is ignorant when it comes to this type of situation. Educate him.
