"All politicians are liars" ---Johnny Rotten

the difference? the smile really

At its heart the right wing (the republicans ) are about the few.

Their economics and whole out look is to benefit the rich, the elite and the few. A good way to look at right wing attitudes is their views toward alcohol and tobacco. They believe fully that it is the poors fault that they gain addiction and dependacy, and it their fault, so its really ok if the poor die.

Neo conservatives follow an almost ancient greek ideal that the massses (great unwashed) or the general popualce are stupid. They are so stupid they NEED to be ruled. Effectivly the masses are children, governent are parents.

Democrats aspire to be the left wing. Left wing is typified by helping the masses. The idea of redistribution of wealth is a key left wing idea. Whereas the right wing would prefer to keep the poor poor and the rich rich, the left would prefer to raise the standards of living for EVERYONE, not jsut the rich, The democrats would like a universal health care unlike the republicans. Then the democrats prefer to keep things more govenrment run, thus cheaper, and less likley for corruption (can we say ENRON)..... etc.

In the end though with the modern move in world politics to the right (extreme right=fascism. adolf hitler extreme left=fascism china , cuba)there really is no clear distinction in the 2 parties in America. Bottom line both worship money over people.

Americans are stupid and uneducated and vote for who looks good on televison. They deserve politicians who act with Chimpanzees (ronald reagan) and beleive that starting a war helps bring about the 2nd coming of Christ (George W Bush)

"Deprive man of his life lie and you rob him of his happiness."
Ibsen
"The party is not concerned with perpetuating itself. Who wields power is not important, providing that the hierarchial structure remains the same."
George Orwell
"The tragedy of it is that nobody sees the look of desperation on my face. Thousands and thousands of us, and we're passing one another without a look of recognition."

The biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans, is the amount of exposure each get. Every time a prominent Democrat is on television he/she has to be stuck with 3 other people who are Republican. On the other hand, when a Republican is on television he/she has no one to counterdict what they say, because they are often alone. Take for instance, Bill O'Reilly or Rush Limbaugh. Bill has lied several times on national television and yet he is "fair and balanced". When it comes to Rush he speaks out for tougher penalties against drug users, but then when he is one he tones down his voice. So bottom line Democrats have to be truthful, while Republicans are often saying one thing and doing the other.

Democrats are socialists. They want government control of everything (from medicine, to education, to business). They want to take away what people have built or earned, and give it to the 'less fortunate'.

Republicans believe you should be able to keep what you earn. They believe in a 'hand up, not a hand out'. They believe businesses left to work on their own will circulate the economy. If a business does not do what is right for their patrons, it will destroy itself. Businesses will run themselves better than the government will run them.

------

additionally, democrats have a hard time reading directions. As se roddy has shown. Apparently he has never seen t.v. shows like Bill Mahar where its 1 conservative vs. 100 liberals.

SeRoddy, tell me ONE LIE that you saw on fox news, and prove to me it was a lie. You can not do it.

se roddy (when you click his name) also says his email is unblocked, but there is no email there. He must have gotten his @ss kicked in a debate with a conservative. I'm not surprised.

republicans are moral conservatives compared to the democrats in the laws they are willing to pass.
Republicans would deny fundamental rights by passing laws telling you what you can and can not do .
republicans deny you the same protections under the laws of the constitution by passing local and state laws that take years for the supreme court to over-turn.
republicans tell you how to live your life and pass laws to that end.
republicans jail offenders of these laws and promote hate among the people.
republicans are willing to cause substancial enviromental havoc in order to make a buck and then have tax payers clean it up.
republicans go to church and pray for guideance happy in the knowledge they are doing what is right.
republicans manipulate facts and figures to paint a picture that everything is going according to plan .
republicans limit the choices you have and continue to say you are free.
republicans are the reason big business runs this country , and will ruin our way of life. Allowing us to be turned into a nation that produces nothing and lives off the profit of foreign made goods. turning americans into a two class society money changers and those who serve them .
Our children will be the defenders of this way of life fighting and being killed all over the world to protect our businesses.
republicans are working towards a police state and militeristic means to protect the investments of corporations around the globe While controling the masses at home.DO AS YOU ARE TOLD AND LIFE IS GREAT FOR AMERICANS.go to church stay away from drugs and work hard for yor boss.
AS free americans struggle in small businesses the 60% left of americans working to support the other 40% who are paid with taxes collected on these few brave souls willing to battle against increasing government regulation higher taxes and the imprisonment and jailing of its workers.America is slowly going under while democrats warn of this impending doom.
DID i paint a one sided picture i am sorry all politicians from both parties are responcible there is no republicans or democrats only workers for profit elected by the people or has redistricting and voting fraud dennied us that to finaly.
the aclu is right
the aclu is right.
the only people concerned about america anymore is the aclu and some independents that can not gain ground fast enough while america dies a slow death and freedom with it.
we have already lost to many rights in this country under the umbrella of morality and christianism.

You actually pose a tough question. As things are run now there is very little difference in the parties. Oddly they seem to contradict their own views on many topics.
Historically Republicans favored a small federal government and stronger State government. In order to achieve this goal the had looked at welfare, education, business regulation and economic development. One of the main purposes of the government was security hence the "War Party" nomenclature.
However NOW they have "adopted moral values" Federal regulations on marrige, abortion, sexual orientation and continued government spending.

Democrats favored a strong central governemnt and limited states rights. Their thought process was that if you redistribute the wealth of indivdual states there would be less tension between them. The party supports federal funding of most aspects of domestic policy and "welfare". They support strong federal regulation of business and the economy.
However, the party really has no platform, go to the DNC's own website for confirmation of this. They have become advocates of liberty protection as federal governemnt should stay out of our personal lives.

Both parties have lost their way and have established pandering for votes as their main goal. The Democratic National Convention (DNC) has pandered to union workers by giving union companies preferance in bidding for governemnt contracts. The pandered to farmers by creating governemnt subsadies, and to the poor by KEEPING them poor by paying them to be unproductive.
The Republican party (Grand Old Party,GOP) has pandered to businesses (a myth that only large corperations are supported) by passing tax breaks. To religous groups by pushing their agendas in congress and to the wealthy in the form of tax breaks (those families that makes more than 60K a year) .

Republicans find governmental capital needs through lowering taxes, which increases spending of consumers. They are minimal government with business, healthcare, welfare.

Democrats find governmental capital through raising taxes. They are pro government of business (regulate monopolies for example), universal healthcare system and pro welfare.

Socially, Republicans (generally) are anti abortion, anti gay, pro religion, pro military, pro blue collar.

Democrats are pro choice, pro gay, not big on religion (kinda), pro peace, less military, tend to be from more wealthy states.

Also, each party has their own reasons for each decision which is in their opinion best for the country. For example republicans arent about free hand outs and give money to those who are worth it.

Democrats are more give a penny so they dont steal a dollar type of thinking.

Its a wash in the end. Be a moderate, thats where its at.

Democrat - Liberal minded, believes that its a government's duty to help out in the economy (especially for the poor and less abled). More willing to accept changes over time.

Republican - Conservative minded, believes that a government has no role in the economy (the guiding hand principle). More pro-buisness. Less willing to accept changes over time.
