Is it okay to use vaseline on red (even white cracks), bruised, cracked nipples?

Not sure if I would use Vaseline...because you're going to have to use soap to get it off later and soap dries out your skin.

I would try neosporin or hypoallergenic lotion.

What's causing it? You might want to change soaps/detergent, sleep with a soft cotton shirt on....Are you breastfeeding? (If so don't put anything on them w/o talking to your dr first.)

I mean it happens but I guess I'm trying to figure out how severe it is...

Breast feeding? There are great ointments out there for this problem. I think Materna makes one and they are in the aisle with supplies for breast feeding.
