I wouldn't necessarily say we're more intelligent than others, we just use the other hand. You've got a right and left hemisphere within your brain... one side is for concrete thoughts and the other is for the more abstract or creative thinking.
Being a south-paw only until recently used to be considered "evil", due to the Latin for left being "sinister"... btw, for the right it's "dexter"... as in dexterous.

It's just a hand preference when learning to feed oneself or write. One hand feels more comfortable to use than the other. It's because the opposite side of the brain is more dominant than the other, and it controls the opposite side of your body. Like when you put on jeans, which leg do you put in first?
I don't think left-handed people are smarter than right-handed people, but they sure have to accommodate for inconveniences such as opening a door lock opposite of what they would do naturally and stuff like that.

intellegence is based upon the person and their ability to process information. how eer it is proven that the people who write with thier left hand think with the right sides of their brains and the people who right with their right think with the left side of the brain. the left side of the brain controls the right side of your body and vice versa. i am a lefty and i am doing fine in life.
