The 325i is the sedan (4 doors) with rear-wheel drive; the 325xi is the sedan with all-wheel drive; the 325ci is the coupe (2 doors). BMW coupes only have rear wheel drive.
All all wheel drive models use the "X" designation (X3, X5, 330xi, etc). Wagon or sedan is not designated in the name (e.g. there is both a 525i sedan and wagon).
FYI, the 325 is the series and engine size - 3-series with a 2.5 liter engine (a 545 is a 5-series with a 4.5 liter engine, etc). The i means fuel injected, and is really just a hold-over from years ago.

The 325i is a 4 door, the ci is the 2 door, and the xi is 4 door 4 wheel drive. The 3 designates the body style while the 25 tells you the size of the engine, up until 2006 25 stood for the 2.5 litre engine but the new 2006 325i's have a 3.0 engine.

Th 325i is the standard rear-wheel drive sedan, the 325ci is the rear-wheel driven coupe/convertible, and the 325xi is the all-wheel-drive version of the 325i sedan.
